About 21,600 people were safely evacuated from Afghanistan in the 24-hour period that ended early Tuesday, compared to about 16,000 the previous day. Pentagon chief spokesman John Kirby attributed the quick evacuations due in part to coordination with Taliban leaders. “Thus far, and going forward, it does require constant coordination and deconfliction with the Taliban,” Kirby said....
