Revolution will be the first AEW pay-per-view without Kenny Omega on the card. After dropping the AEW World Championship to Hangman at Full Gear, Omega has been recuperating from a number of injuries off television. Even though he isn’t on the card, Revolution is set to be one of the best AEW programs to date.

HOOK and Marshall will finally meet in the ring on the Buy-In show. For weeks, Marshall has reminded viewers that he is partly responsible for the fan-favorite HOOK has quickly become. HOOK is the son of wrestling legend, Taz, and HOOK has already defeated a number of Marshall’s fellow students. Now, he looks to prove his skills against one of his teachers.

The tension between Statlander and Hirsch has steadily increased over the past few months, beginning after Statlander picked up a win over Hirsch. The two attempted to team together along with Red Velvet, but their animosity always led to an altercation between them. Hopefully, their Buy-In match will allow them to settle their issues once and for all.

Cargill and Conti will battle for the TBS Championship. Cargill looks to improve her record to 29-0 overall. She has previously defeated Conti’s tag partner, Anna Jay with her TBS Championship on the line. However, Conti can’t be ruled out as a formidable opponent, as her judo background certainly makes her capable of snapping Cargill’s undefeated streak.

Idolo has been trying to bring Allin into the A.H.F.O. and has not been willing to take no for an answer. The A.H.F.O. and Allin have both set their sights on the TNT Championship currently held by Guevara. In Guevara’s last tile defense against Allin, Idolo got involved, costing Allin the match. On Rampage, two days before their Tornado Trios Match, Guevara will defend his TNT Championship in a triple threat against Allin and Idolo.

Danielson offered Moxley a chance for the two to team together and bring young talent like Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta, and Lee Moriarty under their wing. Moxley has resisted Danielson’s recruitment thus far, insisting that he doesn’t team with anyone he doesn’t bleed with first. Over the past several weeks, Danielson has had matches with the younger talent he named and while he’s picked up the victory over all of them, he was impressed by their skill. Whether he or Moxley come away with the win, there’s still a chance these two will admire one another’s violence and form a formidable team.

Keith Lee, Wardlow, Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, and Orange Cassidy have all earned their spots in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. The winner of the match will receive a TNT Championship opportunity. On AEW Dark, Excalibur mentioned that there would be 2 additional entrants to the ladder match on Sunday. AEW announced that on Rampage, Ethan Page and Christian Cage will face one another to earn a spot in the match, leaving room for a mystery entrant. Fans have eagerly anticipated the debuts of free agents like Shane (formerly Isaiah) “Swerve” Strickland, Johnny Gargano, and Jeff Hardy, meaning one of them might make their AEW debut at Revolution.

Jericho and Kingston have been at odds for weeks. After Santana and Ortiz, who were members of The Inner Circle with Jericho, Jake Hager, and Sammy Guevara, began to blame Jericho for their inability to capture the tag titles, their successful history with Kingston became prevalent. Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz were members of LAX (Latin American Xchange) in Impact Wrestling, where they experienced a great deal of success. In Impact, Santana and Ortiz won the Impact World Tag Team Championship 4 times. Where Santana and Ortiz’s loyalty will lie on Sunday remains to be seen.

Punk and MJF will battle one another in a Dog Collar Match, the second in AEW history. The animosity between Punk and MJF has festered for months even though the two have met in the ring on a few occasions. This feud began when Punk refused to shake MJF’s hand several months ago. Since then, MJF has defeated Punk in his hometown of Chicago. On Dynamite, MJF reminded everyone how lethal of an opponent he can be and that he is more than prepared to battle Punk in their Dog Collar Match.

Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus will defend their AEW World Tag Team Championship against reDRagon and the Young Bucks. reDRagon won the Tag Team Battle Royale to earn their spot at Revolution after Kyle O’Reilly tossed Matt Jackson over the top rope. The Young Bucks won the Casino Tag Royale a week later after Matt tossed the returning Darius Martin of Top Flight over the top rope. After aligning themselves with Adam Cole, reDRagon and the Young Bucks have struggled to get on the same page. With such a prestigious championship on the line, it’s unlikely that these teams will be able to put their differences aside long enough to deal with Jurassic Express.

Baker and Rosa have previously put on what many have considered to be a match of the year. Both women bore it all in an unsanctioned lights out match where Rosa picked up the victory. She and her tag partner, Mercedes Martinez also defeated Baker and her partner, Jamie Hayter on Dynamite, giving her momentum heading into Sunday’s championship match. Baker has currently held the AEW Women’s World Championship for well over 200 days.

Page and Cole will wrestle one another for the AEW World Championship. These two have a history that stems back to Ring of Honor, where they have both picked up wins over one another. This will be Cole’s first championship match in AEW, and he is known for collecting gold in every company he’s been part of. Page has had intense battles since winning the World Championship at Full Gear, including a 60-minute draw against Danielson and a Texas Death Match against Lance Archer.

Both Page and Cole have a history with the former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. Omega was expected to return to the ring in February but has recently revealed that his body is still healing. With the start of a new month, Omega’s language could’ve been coy. If Omega is ready to return to the ring, he may make an appearance at Revolution, keeping his pay-per-view streak alive.
